The Saboteur Archetype is one of the four survival archetypes identified by Caroline Myss in her work on Sacred Contracts. Most people connect with the saboteur archetype through the shadow. The nasty habit we all have of sabotaging ourselves by messing up our lives, relationships, and reputation can take center stage with this archetype. This course not only helps you understand more about your self-sabotaging patterns and how to identify them but also how to break free of sabotaging yourself and wield the exceptional power of the light side of this essential archetype to create meaningful and lasting change in your life.
In this four-part, pre-recorded, 100+ minute audio course, Stacey Couch goes in-depth into what it means to sabotage yourself and the many strategies the shadow saboteur has to take us down. The first step of change is to identify what needs to shift. You’ll have the opportunity to identify exactly what strategies you use, either unconsciously or consciously. This sometimes-enigmatic archetype is spelled out plainly in Stacey’s clear and concise definition.
Every archetype has a light and a shadow side, but this doesn’t mean they are two-dimensional. Stacey uses the metaphor of the building frequently described by Caroline Myss to show how the light and shadow side of the saboteur have many manifestations and expressions. Through this course, you discover the multi-dimensional aspect of the saboteur and see how one archetype is an entire world unto herself.
The second half of this course focuses on the light aspect of the saboteur and how the saboteur is our agent of change, helping us to empower our soul. Stacey describes the four stages of the light aspect of the saboteur, so you can see how you create change in your life and how to do so more effectively moving forward. She also takes an in-depth look at empowerment and what exactly it means.
Along with your purchase, you receive a PDF course workbook with seven self-reflective exercises to help you integrate and benefit from the teachings in this course.

What is a Survivor Archetype?
Each of us embodies the four essential survivor archetypes from birth to death. They are the foundation of what it means to be human. The four survivors, as described by Caroline Myss, are the saboteur, child, prostitute and victim. The survival archetypes are deceivingly tricky to understand because we all have them and, thus, can take them for granted. And let’s face it, they also have unsavory names. Really, who wants to discuss their prostitute archetype or admit they play the victim? We all sabotage ourselves, but would rather stop altogether than get to know this side of our character. On the other hand, each survivor has a light, positive side that unlocks the power of our soul. Learning to co-create with the light side of the survivor archetypes is the key to living an authentic, empowered life.
What are Archetypes?
Archetypes are universal patterns of power that coordinate how we think and feel. All we have to do is say “angel” or “hermit”, and instantly others know what kind of person we are talking about. This is indicative of the amount of power that each archetype contains. The Greek origin of the word “archetype” comes from the words archē, meaning “beginning or original” and typos, meaning “pattern, model or type”. Thus, an archetype is the original or first pattern from which all others are made.
